This painting was inspired by the pink geraniums I planted - a tradition I have in memory of my grandfather who always planted red geraniums. While painting this collection, I came across Psalm 23, one of my grandmother's favorites, and when I read verse 4, I knew that this painting would be called "You Are With Me." It is in the little things, like a pot of geraniums, that people remain with us, and it is also in those little things that we see beautiful reminders that God is with us and there to comfort us also.

Some memories never leave you; that is the case here. Nestled upon a windowsill peering into the courtyard sat a beautiful impatient potted in terracotta. Lace curtains billowed in the breeze as I’d peer out from the little bedroom at the window across the way. A private little square where the beauty within was enjoyed by only a few; it was simple, but one of my favorite views from my trip to Spain. The beauty there had been created and nurtured in love.
